2026 Community Shield Confirmed for Cardiff

The 2026 Community Shield will take place on Sunday, August 16, at 3:00 PM, as Arsenal, the Premier League champions, face Manchester City, the FA Cup winners, in the traditional curtain-raiser to the English football season.

The match will be played at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, marking the first time the Community Shield has been held there since 2006.

The fixture is normally staged at Wembley Stadium, but this year’s event has been relocated due to a series of concerts by The Weeknd taking place at the national stadium. The Community Shield traditionally serves as the opening match of the domestic football calendar and offers both clubs an early opportunity to claim silverware ahead of the new season.

With two of England’s strongest teams meeting in Cardiff, fans can expect a highly competitive encounter as Arsenal and Manchester City begin their 2026–27 campaigns.
