Real Madrid Legends Come From Behind to Defeat Inter Legends in Corazón Classic Match

The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium once again played host to the annual Corazón Classic Match, where Real Madrid Legends secured an entertaining 2-1 comeback victory over Inter Legends in front of thousands of supporters.

The charity event, organized in support of the Real Madrid Foundation, brought together former stars from both clubs for a special occasion that combined football, nostalgia and social impact. This year’s edition was held under the theme “A Match with the Soul of Childhood,” with proceeds set to help fund more than 1,400 projects benefiting communities in over 100 countries around the world.

Fans packed the stadium to witness some of their favorite former players return to the pitch. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as club legends once again wore the famous white shirt and entertained supporters with moments that recalled some of the greatest eras in Real Madrid’s history.

Among the players who received the warmest welcome were Pepe, Michel Salgado, Jose Amavisca, Claude Makelele and Christian Karembeu. The Bernabéu crowd also applauded former Madrid players Esteban Cambiasso and Borja Valero despite their involvement with the Inter Legends side.

The opening stages of the match saw both teams create opportunities, but it was Inter who managed to gain the advantage before halftime. Hernanes opened the scoring after reacting quickest to a rebound following an initial penalty save from goalkeeper Koke Contreras.

Contreras proved to be one of Real Madrid’s standout performers during the first half. The experienced goalkeeper produced several important saves to prevent Inter from extending their lead and ensured Madrid remained within touching distance of their opponents.

After the break, Real Madrid Legends returned with renewed energy and gradually took control of the contest. Their increased possession and attacking pressure began to create problems for the Inter defence, while the home supporters continued to encourage their team.

One player who particularly stood out was Pepe. The former Portuguese international delivered an impressive performance, showing the same determination and competitive spirit that made him a fan favorite during his professional career.

Pepe was solid defensively throughout the game and almost found the net shortly after halftime with a dangerous header. As the match progressed, he moved into a more advanced midfield role and became increasingly influential in Madrid’s efforts to mount a comeback.

His impact was eventually rewarded in the 69th minute when he rose highest inside the penalty area to score a powerful header, bringing Real Madrid level and sending the Bernabéu crowd into celebration.

The equalizer completely changed the momentum of the match. Inter struggled to regain control as Madrid continued to push forward in search of a winner.

Just seven minutes later, Javier Barral completed the turnaround by heading home the decisive goal. The finish capped an impressive comeback and secured a memorable victory for the home side.

The result was particularly significant for Real Madrid Legends, who were eager to return to winning ways after recent disappointing outcomes in previous editions of the event. It also provided a measure of revenge following an earlier Corazón Classic meeting between the two clubs that ended in a draw.

Beyond the result itself, the match served as a celebration of football history and the lasting connection between legendary players and supporters. It also highlighted the ongoing charitable work of the Real Madrid Foundation, demonstrating how football can continue to make a positive impact far beyond the pitch.

As the final whistle blew, fans left the stadium having enjoyed a memorable afternoon filled with iconic names, entertaining football and a worthy cause, making another edition of the Corazón Classic Match a resounding success.
