France legend Marcel Desailly has come to the defence of Kylian Mbappé amid growing criticism over his performances at Real Madrid, questioning the negativity directed at the forward.

With José Mourinho reportedly set to take over at the Santiago Bernabéu this summer, Desailly insisted that the club must fully adapt its tactical approach to suit Mbappé’s strengths rather than asking him to take on excessive defensive responsibilities.

The former World Cup winner argued that Mbappé remains one of the most dangerous attackers in world football and should be allowed to focus primarily on scoring and creating goals.
